Galations 2:20 (NIV)
"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."
Last night I was talking with some other ladies, as we are discussing a book about becoming the Woman of God we are meant to be. We were reading about the topic of surrender and I was struck by the analogy that was given. The author quoted what a dance teacher had told her students the first day of class at a prestigious dance school. She explained that they would have to give up everything...time, attitudes, and previous actions. They could not be late for class, interrupt the teacher, or skip class. She told the students it would be a very challenging 3 months but if they listended and followed her direction, the outcome would be very rewarding.
As we looked at what the dance instructor was asking of her students, we learned what Jesus asks of us. He longs for us to follow his Word and give up our lives to let Christ live in us. God tells us in his Word that we will face challenges of many kinds, but if we put our trust in him and lean on him for our strength we will be greatly rewarded and blessed.
I have to remind myself daily to seek God's voice and follow his direction rather than my own.
